Elon Musk’s daughter has officially filed to change her name and reportedly no longer wants to be related to the him “in any way”.
The billionaire CEO’s transgender daughter, who was named Xavier Alexander Musk at birth, has filed to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson.
Wilson is the surname of the 18-year-old’s mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, who was married to Musk from 2000 to 2008.
The legal documents filed with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County state the reason for name change as: “Gender identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form .”
A hearing on Vivian’s request is scheduled to take place on Friday.
Neither party has publicly spoken about their relationship but Musk has previously commented on trans rights.
“I absolutely support trans but all these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
Musk and Wilson reportedly share custody of their five children; twins Vivien and brother Griffin, 18, and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damien who are all 16.
The business magnate, worth an estimated $306 million, is yet to comment on his daughter’s choice of name change but instead tweeted about cheese to his 99m followers.
The news come shortly after Musk was swept up in controversy surrounding his military-esque employee code at Tesla.
He reportedly emailed employees at his electric car company, saying they could work from home — but only after they had done 40 hours at their desk.
“Remote work is no longer acceptable. Anyone who wishes to do remote work must be in the office for a minimum (and I mean *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or departure Tesla. This is less than we ask of factory workers,” the 50-year-old Tesla chief supposedly said in a leaked text message.
