With “House of the Dragon” premiering in August, HBO is finally getting a “Game of Thrones” spin-off on the air following one failed pilot and several other prequel series being in early development.

Then out of nowhere came a report the other day that another was in the works, this one to be a sequel series that would put the focus on Kit Harington’s Jon Snow in the wake of the events of the main series.

So is it real? According to Harington’s co-star Emilia Clarke it certainly is. Speaking with the BBC, Clarke confirmed Harington’s involvement with the show and says he played a big part in the show’s creation:

“He has told me about it, and I know it exists. It’s happening. Its been created by Kit as far as I understand, so he’s in it from the ground up. So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington.”

Harington played the role for eight years on screen and knows the character inside out which makes his involvement on the creative side a good thing. Last we saw of the Jon Snow character, he had crossed the Wall into the lands North – an icy region no longer populated by White Walkers and with the wildlings at relative peace.

At present though, the series is in development and so hasn’t been given a green light as such. Clarke herself tells the broadcaster she’s moved on from the franchise, saying “I think I’m done.”

“House of the Dragon” premieres on HBO on August 21st.
